day 1488: Revealing

“But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him to reveal his Son to meso that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles.”

It was not a big story, but it did get some press.  Starbucks has been challenged by their millennial Baristas over the dress policy that requires that whatever tattoos they have be covered up at all times.  As I read the article that described the rule, the only thing I could come up with for why they have that rule is because someone (could it be Howard himself?) considers body art to be dirty or bad hygiene?  But, what does the average Starbucks customer think?  Whatever they once thought, or Starbucks perceived they thought, about tattoos must have changed.  And could it be that those even younger customers are trying out other coffee shops because those Baristas look more like them.  Whatever the reason, Starbucks looks to be getting ready to allow their Baristas to reveal a little more about who they are.  No one wants their self-expression to be stunted regardless of what that form of self-expression might be.  Something for us to all think about.

Paul turned it around for us as he reminds us that God knows all about us and the real gift is that God will reveal Himself to us more and more if we only seek Him and open our arms to Him.  I forget sometimes that He desires for us to thirst and hunger after Him.  And, it is because God is pleased to reveal all that He has for us. How crazy is that?  We have a God who so wants us to know it all, which someday we will.  Between now and then, let’s be ravenous in our desire to know all we can about what He has to reveal to us!
