“If they can accomplish this when they have just begun to take advantage of their common language and political unity, just think of what they will do later.”
The backlash of Technology continues. After all of these years we are reaching a point where the unintended consequences of the technology we have become so dependent on has turned on us and causing now many issues. We are globally connected and we have every piece of knowledge at our fingertips but yet we are more isolated, lonely, addicted and suicidal than any other time in history. What does this mean? The problem is that we don’t really know, but we can be assured that as time goes on we will be more suspicious and discerning before accepting new technologies into our companies and lives. For those who depend on the new technologies to carry them forward need to be very cognizant and aware.
Digital technology is built upon common software languages that are shared worldwide along with shared and common rules and uses. This is an essential element of why we have been able to globalize and grow the technology industry so quickly and pervasively. And then there are the downsides that come. Maybe we should have seen this coming from what we read in Genesis 11. There was another time when the world came together around a common language and the consequences were seen. God’s Word called it out: “If they can accomplish this when they have just begun to take advantage of their common language and political unity, just think of what they will do later.” Maybe a word today to continue to be on notice for what is still yet to come.
