day 2299: Homecomings

“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?”

I was reading Scott Galloway’s weekly blog and he wrote about a recent college homecoming and related it to other homecomings that occur. It got me thinking, I’ve never been invited to a company homecoming. And, why not?  We see alumni groups popping up, but especially if you run a consumer product or consumer service company, why wouldn’t you want your corporate alumni to come back together to feel good about their time at the company? And the people who return, they are also signaling that they still have affections that could be rekindled.

Everyday is a homecoming in God’s Kingdom if we truly believe and lean on Jesus’ promise for us. Try talking to a fellow believer today about what we know Jesus is doing for us, while we are working for Him. It might feel like a homecoming.
