day 2096: Effort and Focus

“No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead…”

I am fortunate that with the companies that I am involved with that I get to see extraordinary people making tremendous efforts.  But, I have learned much over the years and one of those is that effort isn’t a guarantee.  It really hurts to hear,  but tremendous efforts can still deliver mediocre or modest results.  What’s more important than the effort is that the effort is focused and targeted on what is important and what truly matters.  And this, this is critical that we evaluate it each and every day.

Our faith is not without effort and focus.  We have an active faith and an active Lord. He asks us for our effort to love, praise, worship and adore Him. He asks us to be active in our love and sharing of what He has done in our lives. Each and every day we start with a given amount of energy that get to choose how to expend.  We get to decide where to put our efforts.  As we think about what is in front of us today, let’s be sure that we are putting our efforts in the right place.
