day 2066: Let’s Move

For in him we live and move and exist.”

Movement is the rage.  Everywhere we turn there is a message for us to stay moving and plenty of devices to make sure that we are feeling guilty if we aren’t doing so.  Some companies have now adopted movement as a part of their health and welfare offerings and some others are going as far as changing the monetary amounts of insurance coverage and premiums to benefit those who stay moving.  It’s an interesting thought as I think back in my career on those who were up and on the move in the office and those who were sedentary in their movement and travel around the company.  My memory is that those who didn’t move much were the ones who were perceived as less of a go-getter and consequently were the first asked to leave in the time of change.  There is something about moving that others do also count.

Paul says that our movement in this life is through Jesus. I recognize this as Jesus was never not on the move (literally and figuratively) and He was always among the people, not separated from them.  It is why we have the promise that in Him we can move (and grow) exist and live.  Really, what more do we need?
