day 3K30: 30/60 Rule

“For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.”

James C., a loyal PwK reader sent me this after post 3K24: “Hasty Words”.  It’s the 30/60 rule that he saw on Twitter by Jesse Pujji to “Encourage being resourceful yet practical. When stuck, Spend at least 30 mins trying to solve the problem yourself before asking for help but not MORE than 60 mins before raising your hand.” Imagine in the workplace if we followed the 30/60 rule how much more we might get done?  I see far too little time on doing the hard thinking and work before tapping someone else and far too much time wasted before bowing of egos to ask for help.  It takes a true openness on both ends of the spectrum to get the 30/60 rule right, but if we can get it going, watch out!

Maybe God is also calling us to a 30/60 rule today with Him. We are to take all things to Him but I wonder if sometimes we are to first inventory what He has given us to date and be sure we are utilizing that before we ask for more.  How many times have we run into Believers who can’t get out of their own way because they are stuck thinking that God has to do more for them before they act?  If we are facing a challenge today, let’s go for the 30/60 rule and start with what has God provided that He’s been waiting for us to just realize and then if we are still stuck, then let’s go right back to Him and He will provide more.  Always does, always will.
