day 2446: Erasing

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”

The New York Times is running a series of “Overlooked” obituaries about notable people they didn’t recognize at the time of the person’s death.  This Monday they ran an obit on Bette Nesmith Graham.  Most won’t know her name. She died in 1980.  But since the mid 1950’s those who ever corrected a term paper, a memo or a handwritten letter, would benefit from her invention of “Liquid Paper”.  You see, she was a terrible typist in a secretarial role and needed some type of assistance to just keep up. Her necessity became the invention that allowed many to be able to participate in typing and writing that they wouldn’t have been able to do before, and it solved her problem.

We each have a sin problem and the solution is right here in front of us, waiting at all times to take our sins away from us.  How great it is to have the correction of Christ in our lives. We will make mistakes today, many of them.  But let’s remember that Jesus erased our sins and all He asks us to do is call on Him to keep the erasing flowing.
