day 2503: Data Sets

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Ever wonder where all the data comes from or analysts, writers, reporters, etc. to draw upon.  Some organizations build their own data sets, but then they have to spend the time, energy and resources to keep it up to date.  We need the data, but we can’t always build it ourselves.  So, we need to seek for the central data set that we can tap into knowing it is always up to date and relevant that we can learn to use once and not have to spend time or money re-learning how to source the data.  I didn’t know there is one of these out there for economic data until I read about F.R.E.D.; the Federal Reserve Economic Data.  The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis keeps up the data; 509,000 different data series from 87 different sources of economic and financial data all accessible by one single intuitive and easy to use interface.  Who knew?

One single intuitive, easy to use interface for all that we need is someplace really close by. It’s God’s Word and it’s asking for us to draw upon all that it has to offer.  Are we accessing God’s Word daily so we are prepared for what this day will bring?
