day 2425: Triple Crown

“And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.”

For over three decades it was said that it could never happen again, and then American Pharoah won The Triple Crown of horse racing.  The drought had been broken, but how long would it be before it happened again?  Was he a super horse who was beyond all others?  He was, at least for a couple of years, until Justify also won The Triple Crown this past Saturday.  We are quick to look at record achievements as unattainable and find reasons to limit ourselves to where we are right now.  But, it is that thinking that keeps us from our full potential and capabilities.  If everyone believes it can’t be done, it won’t.  That is until the one person or team who only sees those things that can’t be accomplished as the reason that they will be the ones to prove everyone else wrong.

We are so blessed to have a Lord who wears the triple crown of of being here for us in the past, present and future. He has done all that others said couldn’t be be done and there is still so much left to come.  As Paul liked to compare our lives to a race to be run, God gives us everything we need to stretch to places that we don’t know we can.  Let’s today let Him be the one who defines where we should next run!
