day 2104: Summer Attire

“Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”

It’s the dead of summer and if it isn’t hot yet, it will be soon.  This is the time of the year when we stare at our closets and make decisions of what should we wear that meets our business needs but at the same time we can withstand as we go about our work. I’ve always felt for those who have to suit up (been there and done that) regardless of how hot and humid it is outside.  I remember the days of just getting into the office without the sweat stains being a challenge. Fortunately, many businesses are much more relaxed today, but even so, it’s essential that we remember that the dress of the customer, the dress of the buyer, the dress of the decision-maker should be the driver for what we decide is best for our own attire.

It’s cool that Paul talks about our emotions and spirit in the forms of clothing because it’s true that we can almost see these on people when it truly is how they live. He tells us to be clothed in love.  I can confidently write that we each know someone, or more than one, who we can see how they care clothed in love.  And when we recognize that they are driven by God’s love, it is recognizable!  With what clothes are we attiring ourselves today?
