day 2428: Grumbling

“Instead, they grumbled in their tents and refused to obey the Lord.”

When we have too much time on our hands, we tend to grumble with and about each other. Look no further than anywhere there is room to gather and time to kill. There is a reason we want to keep ourselves and everyone else around us busy, occupied and the downtime to a minimum.  And, if we are going to have slack time that we fill it with creative and positive outcomes as the expectation.  Otherwise, well, we just grumble.

Imagine being the person who is said to never have a bad thing to say about anyone else and who is always uplifting, positive and without complaint?  We can be that person if we decide to not just hang in our tents (literally and metaphorically) falling prey to grumbling among ourselves.  The Psalmist tells us that this grumbling isn’t at all becoming to the Lord.
