day 2100: A Million Words?

This post was supposed to be day – 2100 – it was my mistake that I jumped from day 2099 to day 3000.  Explanation can be seen on day 2105…

“….What you say flows from what is in your heart.”

Today is day/post 3000 for Purposed worKING.  It doesn’t really seem possible that on October 1, 2008 I started this journey and that I’d be here now.  For many years, I never missed a workday, but in the last year, I’ve been a little more random than I should have been.  Regardless, give or take a bit, it appears that I’ve published about 1,000,000 words on this blog. That seems like a lot but in the digital world we live in, it’s been said that unless you have 10,000,000 of “something”, it’s not really “internet big”.  That said, there is value in the process of discipline, follow through and accountability that we should ensure resides within our organizations.  Knowing those areas where others are counting on us to follow-through can in itself be a great motivator.

When I stop and think about what I am really doing for God, like I did yesterday in church as I reflected on the troubles around us right now, I am comforted that God never said that it is about a few people doing really big things that make the difference.  What He tells us over and over in His Word is that it is the collective of each us paying attention to how we live our lives, love others and do our best to walk in His way that really matters.  I know for sure that God isn’t going to care about the number of words, He is going to care about the “why” and “how” that I, or any of us, step forward for Him.
