day 2083: Built To Last

“I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you.”

At the end of last week, I had to have a tooth extracted.  It was going to be routine, until it wasn’t.  The surgeon said, “This is harder than it should be” and then proceeded to spend way more time than usual to make the extraction. Once he was successful, he explained that I had something he’d never seen before where the root opened up to the sinus cavity and he thought maybe that was what the problem was.  For me, it reminded me how even though we are easily broken on the surface, at our human core, we are built to last.  If it was easy for the surgeon to remove a tooth, then any little amount of pressure would do the trick. But he needed all the pressure and tools he had to get one lousy tooth to come out.  A reminder, if we build our companies from the core out, then they too will not be taken a part easily.

Our Father in Heaven built all of us with a core of Him that we can depend upon at all times.  His love cannot be removed, it can only be rejected by us.  When we feel like we are being shaken, or coming apart at the seams, let’s remember that at our core is His love and caring for us that has been carried to us through the generations.
