day 1533: What, No More Cookies?

“When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality.”

We’ve had our hands in the cookie jar for far too long now and all the cookies are about to be gone.  I’m not talking about real cookies that we eat, I’m writing of those cookies that are data that we leave behind when we visit web sites.  But, those services that protect us online and devices are getting smarter and smarter and digital advertisers are having to come up with new ways to track our comings and goings.  Google is said to be coming with their proprietary method that would become part of AdSense.  It makes all the sense in the world that they would be developing this and then use for their own services first before opening it up to others.  We can expect it to happen.  In the meantime, if we have a web business, or depend on search and traffic data to value, sell or attract, then we need to be ahead of this game and be thinking about how to once gained, hold onto those who stop by to just browse.

When today someone gives you the opening to deepen a relationship or open up a conversation that once was closed, see that as a possible way that God wants to work through you today.  You have been diligent and purposeful in the way that you work and God will provide fruit from that commitment.  Today, that little move to you, might actually feel like a giant leap to the other person.  You know who’s arms are open through you to reach out and catch them.
