day 1942: At The Surface

“Beginning a quarrel is like opening a floodgate, so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.”

We are surrounded by tensions that bombard us in the media and externally can seep into the workplace and become the beginnings of employee issues and infighting.  We are better off trying to keep the external tensions to a minimum inside the office and the best way to do so is to stay laser focused on the work and objectives at hand.  It’s amazing how focused we can be when we don’t have time for distractions.  Something about “the idle mind….”.

If there should be any standard-bearer for grace and peace, it has to be us as believers.  When we follow Solomon’s wise words we run counter to what is expected.  And that, right now, could be the example that is needed.
