day 2620: Relative Peace

“Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.”

All things are relative, or so said the man who figured it out.  Einstein also wrote this to an admirer of his: “A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness.” Einstein probably had it right and we could learn from here as much as we have in his mathematical theories.

God implores us to live a peaceful life and in order to get there we need to pray for those who are above us.  If work feels filled with turmoil and noise, then it’s time to start praying for our bosses.  They have authority over us, so we must pray for them to lead in a way that allows us to do our work in a way that is as peaceful as possible.
