day 2576: Leave On Time

“In the few days of our meaningless lives, who knows how our days can best be spent? Our lives are like a shadow. Who can tell what will happen on this earth after we are gone?”

We are well into January and how are those resolutions holding up?  If you are like me, and many others, we continue to struggle with the goals that we set for ourselves.  We look for as many tricks as we can to keep ourselves motivated.  Here is one.  Set a deadline, but not just any deadline.  Set the deadline for what time you will stop working today.  When will you leave the office?  When will you go offline and not come back on for the day?  If you know when that is, work towards it and stick to it, then you not only have a better chance of getting more done, but you will feel rewarded at the end of the day, because you are done!  A little incentive never hurt.

We have no idea how many days we have left on the earth.  But, if today was the last, what would we do with it that could make a difference for God?  We don’t need to be morbid to be motivated, but we do sometimes need to be reminded that we have a time we will leave.
