day 2068: Roots

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

We’d love if all of our employees were rooted in our companies so we just didn’t need to be concerned about whether or not they will leave and go someplace else.  But that is just not the case. They aren’t really rooted. It’s more like they are “potted”.  And as we know, pots can get picked up and moved around.  How many people on our team today are just pots that could be picked up and moved too easily?

If we have doubts where our roots should grow, let God’s Word show us.  They should grow deeply into Him. It is then that our faith can grow strong.  But, without our roots being deep and established in Him, then we run the risk of becoming uprooted by the smallest of things.  But, if we are deeply rooted then it takes much to cause us to tilt or be moved.
