day 2604: An Extra Gear

“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”

It’s Wednesday in the month that marks the end of winter and the first day of spring.  We are into spring for a week but in many places it is still gray, cold, snowy or rainy. And it feels like warmth and sunshine is still far away. I personally get a little down during this time with lower energy than I would like.  It’s in this time that I could use an extra gear. And, we are closing the first quarter of the year and the expectations are that we are picking up pace to carry into the middle of the year. So, how do we find this extra gear?  It is now that we should take stock of where we are, correct where we must, and lean into the areas where we are getting traction and then celebrate the achievements we have made so far.  The extra gear is found in the recognition of how far we have come and the plans of where we are going.

In 2 Corinthians we are told that God will provide generously in what we need. But, what this verse also tells us is that God is ready to give us our extra gear when we need Him.  If we need energy He provides and then gives us plenty left over to be shared.  So, when we are counting on and drawing from God, we not only are given the extra gear, we pick up pace so that there is more than needed; there is plenty left over.
