“Those who use the things of the world should not become attached to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.”
There might not be a greater intoxicant than power. We have example after example of those who reach power and then abuse it. I find it sad that we are in this time and place, but we can also use these moments to reshape our thinking about our own reliance and use of power. If we are in a place of any leadership or responsibility we have been given power. This time we are in and the lessons around us can be the moments that redefine in a positive way what others can expect in the workplace and how they will lead in the future. Will we step up to that responsibility?
Power is a thing of this world that we are taught that we should not become attached. Power can be easily removed with one slip-up, mistake or decision by someone else. Let’s check ourselves today to be sure that we understand this lesson and turn over all power we are given to the higher power to lead and guide us forward.
