day 2140: Moments In Time

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”

We all know the phrase, “A Moment in Time”.  When we hear, read or say it we are marking something that has happened in a time of our lives that we want to remember, or are forced to remember.  This week was one of those for many.  And I’m not just referring to the Presidential Election.  There were moments this week already of promotions, resignations, terminations, recognition, successes, and failures.  It might be that something significant was completed or able to be started.  I don’t know what it might be, but “moments in time” always demand a response and it up to us to assure that we find in ourselves a way of positively marking for others, this moment.  Especially in our business life we must be cognizant that many play by a set of rules for a zero-sum game and that one person’s win is someone’s loss.

As believers, we can best bring glory to God in our lives when we mark the moments in time with either humility or grace.  When we are on top if the world, we must be there with humility.  When we are on the bottom of a decision with ourselves. or with others, we must be there with grace.  Let’s try and practice those two attributes as we walk through our moments in time.
