day 2042: Super Bowl Week – Decision Scrutiny

“…But wisdom is shown to be right by its results

When as much is on the line as the Super Bowl, every decision gets discussed, debated and scrutinized.  Owners, General Managers, coaches, trainers, players, sponsors, event hosts, media, advertisers, city officials, concessionaires, security, you name it will be under the microscope.  And if there is a slip up, then there will be ad nausea conversation, consternation and critique.  And so it goes, each and every year.  And, what happens around the Super Bowl is not all different from what occurs within our companies and organizations when we are at the “big moment”.  It’s always then that the heat is turned up and we can expect that each and every decision feels monumental and critical.  But, that’s the big game and if we want to play in it, then it’s what we must be ready to accept, endure and conquer.

Jesus’ actions and decisions were questioned.  He hung with wrong people and He didn’t let the legalities of the Pharisees weigh Him down.  And He received scrutiny.  However,  Jesus answered by letting the results of His actions speak for themselves. He let us know that we can’t always know in the moment, but wisdom will be revealed in the results.  And, as we know and love, there have been no greater results than the results of His life.  Our own decisions are always under scrutiny, so we too need to be sure and do our best that in the results, there was and is seen His wisdom.
