day 2694: UltraBlack

“And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness.”

Scientists at MIT have developed a material that they say is the “blackest black” material of all time.  What they have created absorbs 99.995% of light that strikes the surface, regardless of the angle of the light that hits it.  I have no idea what kind of use will come from this (scientists say it will be very helpful for precision telescopes to keep out any stray light sources).  But, I am sure that others will find all kinds of uses as well and who knows, it could be that the material becomes a staple for something that we use everyday.  Usually, that is the way it works.  We start with an idea and then upon use, we discover another utility that could be even bigger and better than the original idea.

Some days feel like the blackest of black, and darkest of dark days, but we know that God separates light from darkness and brings His light of hope to everything that is dark.  We may have something that looks dark and darker in our lives, but when we invite Christ into these places then that toxic work relationship or that problem we just can’t seem to resolve is calling out for the answer; shed His light on it today.
