day 2768: Way Finding Behavior

“When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.”

There are actually predictable patterns of actions that have been identified that people take when they have the sense that they are getting lost. Scientist, Michael Bond has been doing this research and those patterns should be something that could help law enforcement, park rangers, rescue teams, or even those who are looking for lost children.  Imagine that these patterns then can get coded into AI/Smart Technologies to support those who are looking for the lost. Sometimes, it can seem that in our workplaces we see those who begin to show the signs of feeling lost, displaced or failing. In my work, from experience, I was to be able to identify those signs in leaders and team members and if I was on my game, I could step in and hopefully save someone from where they might be heading.  Who in your company or organization is attuned to the way finding behavior?

There is no doubt, and I know it from personal experience, that we all can begin to feel lost in our effort to bring glory to God in our work. When we feel that drifting, or that we have failed or slipped, we need to remind ourselves that our Lord is the great shepherd and that He knows every way finding behavior and goes beyond any other in that He does not allow us to stray away but instead comes to where we are and then tenderly shepherds us back to Him. Is there anything more loving and encouraging than that today?
