day 2151: A Great Game!

“…And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

It’s not easy to walk away from a loss and say, “But, it was a great game.” Yet, when someone can do that, then it means they can move quickly into learning what went wrong and how next time, a loss gets turned into a win. While we are working, when we don’t win against our competition, internally or externally, we’d be best to quickly move away from the loss and instead look to the future.

Neither Jesus or any of Apostles cared about the winning of anything within one’s earthly life and there weren’t lessons to teach us how to win anything other than win new followers to Jesus. But, there are many lessons in the Bible on how to handle and overcome loss.  That tells me that God knew that, if we were not checked, we would lose the right eternal focus and instead get caught up in trying to win at something for today.  So, in our today, let’s zoom out a bit and look at the big picture game and that game being what we can do to deepen our walk with Him.
