“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”

The New York Times did an article on “Procrastibaking”.  Who knew there was such a thing, but there is.  There are those who bake instead of doing something else that needs to be done.  I don’t do that, but I surely, like everyone, procrastinate when there is something hard to be done.  We see it all the time in the workplace, or maybe we don’t see it.  There is a form of procrastinating that happens when we look at our To Do List and start with the easy stuff, the routine work, the things that will make us feel temporarily like we have accomplished something, when indeed the hard things, the big things, the complex things, get put off and delayed because we simply “Procrastilisting”

Each day, each week we make our choices on how to spend our time.  Throughout the New Testament we are taught that the time and day of God’s return is near and we are not to waste or put off in the deepening of our spiritual journey, the sharing of Him to others and the lifting up of those who are ministering.  We can get lackadaisical because we always think there is a tomorrow.  But, we can’t procrastinate away tomorrow, it will be here whether we want it to or not.
