day 2977: Trouble!

“The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him.”

It’s just when we think everything is under control and running smoothly that trouble raises its ugly head. I’ve come to realize that doing business is never trouble-free.  It might be that we don’t see or feel trouble for a period of time, but it’s always there and will rise to the top when we least expect it.  Or, when we do expect it.  One way of managing against trouble is not being surprised or frustrated when it shows up but instead accepting it as part of doing business and approaching it without emotion or drama.  Imagine a world where trouble didn’t fluster us.

We don’t have to be flustered with trouble if we are putting our trust in the Lord.  He tells us that He is with us as a refuge.  Refuge means: “A condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger, or trouble.”  Safe and sheltered!  That is good protection from trouble.  So, when trouble comes our way today, let’s first recognize that we have God as our refuge no matter what!
