day 1906: Water Stops

“Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

When running a Marathon all training plans will tell you to not miss any chance to drink water when it is provided.  Distance runners learn to drink while they are on the run so that they don’t have to stop.  But, they have to drink and a missed water stop is putting one’s self in a risky situation. The same can be said about companies and organizations that are given the opportunity to resource themselves for growth.  Sometimes that is capital but it just as many times can be the opportunity to bring on people with new ideas that refresh the organization. What we don’t want to do is miss the water stops because there are no guarantees that there will be another one to come.

Jesus told us that we are to drink from Him as He is the water that we each need.  But, I want to turn this a bit and ask if we can’t be the provider of the refreshment that others need when they see Jesus through us? Who will it be today who will come to you for encouragement, support, a word, a pat on the back, or even a moment to talk?  Watch to see if someone just happens to stop by today.
