day 2660:

“He uncovers mysteries hidden in darkness; he brings light to the deepest gloom.”

Something is going on with major league baseball and someone doesn’t want to talk about it.  The number of homeruns being hit this year versus the past is astounding. 2017 was the record year with 6105 HRs.  This year the league is on pace to break 6800 HRs!  There has been many kind of speculations as to why, but even Major League Baseball has admitted from their study in 2018 that there has been “a change in the aerodynamic properties of the baseball”.  So, if that is the case, then what caused the change?  Pitchers who throw sliders are complaining that their grip feels different this year and are claiming that the hand-sewn stitches are of less height than in the past. Maybe, that is it.  Maybe, it isn’t.  But, if the ball has changed in some way, someone knows.  Somewhere a specification changed, or a different material vendor was chosen, or the instructions to the sowers was modified, etc. This happens a lot in business.  Everything is fine, until it isn’t and somewhere something changed, but no one wants to be the person or team to accept that they made the change. Now, in baseball, it’s not that big of a deal, but like what happened at Boeing, one small change can be disastrous.  It is why we should never accept that it is okay to hide anything, ever.

I know it sounds crazy, but not only do we try and hide things about our lives from other people, but we actually delude ourselves into thinking that we can hide whatever it is from God.  It doesn’t work that way as He sees all. So if we are ever in doubt as to what is right, what is wrong, should we, or shouldn’t we, then stop for a moment and say, “God sees all. What would make Him happy and what would make Him angry?”  And there lies the answer to what we should or shouldn’t do.
