day 2981: Worth The Work

“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.”

We have all been told umpteen times that if we want something good to happen we have to put in the hard work.  We know it, but too many times we still want to avoid the hard work, give up, or move onto something new and different.  But, let’s be reminded that even what looks like over-night sensations had lots of hard work behind the scenes that we never saw.  There will always be moments when we don’t want to do the work necessary, but let’s remember that it is that moment that can make the real difference between what is good or what can be great.

Sometimes we also might want to give up on the hard work of working for the Lord. We might want to retreat or throw our hands up in the air and say, “Why should I keep loving on others when I get nothing back in return?”.  The above verse in Hebrews tells us why we can’t stop doing the work for Him.  God smiles on us when we care for others and when we are not afraid to keep up the hard work!
