day 1233: Five Years of Purposed worKING and No Grumbling!

On October 1, 2008, when I first started writing Purposed worKING, I wondered how long I would write this blog.  Today, we celebrate five years together.  My prayer remains the same; “May God continue to bless you and allow you to bring glory to Him in all that you do!” That is Purposed worKING! I ask for your prayers as I enter into this sixth year for God to continue to use this blog for His purpose.

“Don’t grumble about each other, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged. For look—the Judge is standing at the door!”

Ironically, as we wake up this morning to head to the office, the news is filled with the word, “Shutdown”.  I’m trying to think of a positive connotation for that word.  It’s hard to find one. We are many times influenced by the mood and attitude of the media and we can be sure that today the negative messages will be rampant.  It will be a challenge to stay above the fray and not get caught up in the negativity.  On days like today, the power of our words and our restraint need to be monitored closely.  If today, we can run counter to the world by not grumbling but instead fill our mouths with positives, encouragements and motivations, then this might well be the day that someone will ask us, “How can you be so positive, when no one else is?”
