day 3000: Eat Your Own Dogfood

“The voice said to me, “Son of man, eat what I am giving you—eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.”

“Eat your own dogfood” is a common statement heard in the start-up world.  What it means is that if we are building a product or service but aren’t using what we are building for ourselves, then how will we know if it is any good?  It seems silly to have to remind ourselves of this, but more often than not, employees of a company never have to experience fully what their consumers or customers receive.  This happens internally in a company as well.  Just because someone creates something for someone else, doesn’t mean it is good.  So, before we ask someone else to use what we have built, let’s be sure that we have first taken a number of big bites of it ourselves.

Well, this is post 3000 of PwK and today’s topic applies to me as well.  One of the benefits of writing this blog is that each time I tackle a subject or a verse, I get to learn again.  And, I also have to remind myself that what God is revealing through His Word that I expand on is for me to digest as well.  Yes, God wants us to take it all in and make it so much a part of us that we can confidently live out our lives in the workplace that brings glory to Him in all that we do.  I look forward to continuing on with you with PwK. Monday starts a new chapter.  Look for PwK 3K1 Monday morning.  Until then, enjoy all that God has given us to take in!
