day 3K187: Earlier and Earlier

“For the Kingdom of Heaven is like the landowner who went out early one morning to hire workers for his vineyard.”

You might have already noticed that in some retailers, you already see Christmas trees and decorations being sold.  It’s in line with Pumpkin Spice Lattes being sold in August.  Retailers are trying to spread out these holiday purchases to get the most from the seasons of spending on specific items.  It also might help consumers to not have to buy everything in one month and having it hit their expenses all at once.  Regardless, we are in a world of earlier and earlier in many areas, which is forcing all of us to plan ahead and think ahead of the curve.

We know that we can receive all of God’s love early or late in life.  He doesn’t withhold any of Himself from us because we come to Him late, or later than we should.  However, why would we want to wait?  I once met a member of Augusta National (the golf club that puts on The Masters) and I asked him if there was anything he would change about Augusta?  He thought for a moment and said, “I’d have had them invite me to be a Member a lot earlier than they did.”  Like he desired, we should desire to be in the presence of the Lord and surrendered to Him as early and as long as we can.  So, let’s come to Him earlier and earlier with all that we have.
