day 2700: When The Shoe No Longer Fits

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

Yesterday the announcements came out that both the CEOs of Nike and Under Armour were stepping down.  Under Armour has had a tough run and the CEO/Founder was under pressure to turn the company over to new leadership. Nike, on the other foot, has had a great recent stock run and the company’s profile is high.  But, for internal reasons, it was time for a change. The lesson here is that shoes fit, until then don’t. And for all kinds of reasons that change will come inevitably.  We should run as long as hard as we can, but we can’t forever.  None of us.

The changes we are hit with can come in many forms; surprises, events, external influences, our changing capability, etc. This is why we must do our best to stay attuned to the Holy Spirit and His path for us.  It changes.  We know that.  But, we have a hard time accepting those changes, unless we are grounded in our faith in what is next to come.
