day 3K78: Wisdom Circles

“Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.”

This last Sunday in Church, our Pastor put up this quote from C.S. Lewis: “The next best thing to being wise oneself is to live in a circle of those who are.”  I like this quite a bit because not only is it true, but it can be a call to action.  We either can choose to go it alone and trust upon our own experiences, strengths, talents, etc., or we can surround ourselves with those who know more than we know and whom we can depend upon to lead or walk along with us in our work journeys.  Think about how expensive and risky it is to make mistakes.  The best risk mitigation is to have others who can keep us from touching the stove.  So, why don’t we all have a Wisdom Circle?

We are taught to seek out good counsel and advice before we move forward.  That means surrounding ourselves with those who can provide us their wisdom as we make our Faith Journey.  So, while we look to God to provide, let’s also ask Him to bring forward those who can be our Wisdom Circle to assist us as we do our best to bring glory to God in our work.  We need these people and as always, God will provide if we ask Him to do so.
