day 1886: Real-Time Feedback

“Those who listen to instruction will prosper, those who trust the Lord will be happy.”

We are just about to a place where we will be getting real-time feedback on just about everything. Patti’s car broke down this week and we got a loaner, which was a brand new Lexus sedan.  There is so much real-time feedback in that car that I found it distracting. Lights going on all over the place as other cars got closer or entered into my blind spot. I could almost park with eyes closed from the sounds of nearing an obstacle.  And, it’s not only cars.  I read this in an advertisement for the bluetooth Oral-B toothbrush, “You’ll get real-time feedback on your brushing. You’ll know if you’re brushing too hard, or if you’ve brushed long enough and even if your brushing habits have improved over time.” And there it will be on my Oral-B app, on my smartphone, how many brush strokes did I perform today.  This is the tip of the iceberg, so get ready for getting real-time feedback, like it or not, from all over the place.

None of us are always going to like what we hear and want to follow the instructions given to us, but God tells us that if we listen, follow and trust God’s instructions, that we will be happy.  Is there some real-time feedback and instructions that God is trying to get through to us today?  Is there something we know we must change in order to be the person we need to be to reach others for Him?  We have to be open, listen and heed God’s feedback and accept that His real-time is the best of times for us.
