day 2717: MVPs

“No, O people, the Lord has already told you what is good, and this is what He requires: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God”

A company I am working with has just completed its MVP (minimal viable product). It was a big day and one that was not easy to which arrive. The MVP is a great milestone as it shows that the company has been able to take its vision and convert it to something that is workable or doable. But, quickly after we release the MVP we are reminded that this is only getting to the starting line and hearing the starter gun go off.  The race doesn’t really start until after the MVP is launched.  And now we are off and running, building upon the thing that we worked so hard to realize.  MVPs are critical if not only for the proving to others, but also to be the internal motivating catalyst to get us going in the right direction.

I’m often asked the question (in many different ways) what is the minimal set of disciplines and outputs of a faith-driven leader and someone who is doing their best to make the glory of God the purpose of their work? The answers to that question are as numerous as there are verses in the Bible that address what type of person, follower, servant and leader of people we are to be. Today, let’s address being God’s MVP to others with what read in Micah.  We are to be people who do what is right.  To be merciful because we love God’s mercy that He shows for us and to journey through our careers and lives with the greatest humility as we can have. That’s an MVP that God can build upon.
