Rusty Rueff, author of purposed worKING. Rusty Rueff is the former Chairman Emeritus of The GRAMMY Foundation in Los Angeles. He most recently completed the successful 16 month leadership role as Coordinating National Co-Chair for Technology for Obama (T4O) for the reelection of President Obama and ten-years of Board service and President of the Board of Trustees of the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Corporately, most recently Rueff was the Chief Executive Officer at SNOCAP, Inc. until the acquisition of the company by imeem, Inc. in April 2008. Before joining SNOCAP in 2005, he was Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Electronic Arts (EA) from 1998 until 2005. He was also with the PepsiCo companies for more than ten years, with the Pratt & Whitney division of United Technologies for two years, and in commercial radio as an on-air personality for six years. Rusty holds an M.S. in counseling and a B.A. in radio and television from Purdue University. In 2003 he was named a distinguished Purdue alumnus, and he and his wife, Patti, are the named benefactors of Purdue’s Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts. He is a corporate director of Glassdoor.com and runcoach. He is the co-founder and Executive Committee Member of T4A.org, serves on the Founding Circle of The Centrist Project and a founding Board Member of The GRAMMY Music Education Coalition. He is also the co-author of the book Talent Force: A New Manifesto for the Human Side of Business. Rusty and his wife, Patti, reside in Hillsborough, CA and Charlestown, R.I.

“Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

I was reading that it is said that as Roger Bannister, on May 6th 1954, crossed the finish line becoming the first person in history to break the elusive four-minute mile mark, he said to himself, “Après moi, le déluge,” which translates to, “After me, the flood.”  It’s so true. Once the first person, company or organization breaks a barrier, then something happens that others can do the same soon after.  Just take a look at the EV (Electric Vehicle) market.  So many had tried to break through and then Tesla nailed it.  Just a few years later we every major automobile maker in the EV market and many of them declaring they will be all-electric within a few years.  Yes, it is true,“ Après moi, le déluge,”

While it may not feel like a flood to us, we need to consider that the ground that the Disciples broke after the resurrection of Jesus is so amazing.  12 people started what we today know as Christianity.  And some as individuals, along with the Apostle Paul had a profound effect on the world and the expansion of God’s Kingdom here on Earth. Studies say that in 2020 Christianity made up 31.11% of the world’s population, or 2.382 Billion people.  Then consider that this is only 2020 years after the birth of Christ and the multiples of the number of people through time who have died and already headed to Heaven.  I find it staggering to think that from a few, so much has happened.  It should have us all challenging ourselves to turn the statement to a question:  “Après moi, le déluge?”
