day 3K345: When?

“God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.”

How long ago was it that ChatGPT-4 (the one that caught all of our attention) launched?  Was it 18 months ago, a year, 6 months ago?  It must have been awhile ago for it to have become such a prominent part of our discussion and now investment craze (want to capture a venture capitalist’s attention without having some form of A.I. as your product…good luck with that).   Well, it’s only been five months since GPT-4 was launched and what a difference five months have made and to think that we are only at the starting line for what will likely be technology that will be embedded into everything we do.  I remember when IoT (internet of things) was the next big thing and everything around us would be connected to the internet.  I still think that will happen, but for now, A.I. and Large Language Models will capture our attention for many cycles to come.

As humans we love the next new, shiny, big things to be.  And we don’t ask “if” it will happen, we wonder more about “when” and then if we can figure out how to be a part of this next “thing”.  God and our faith is counter to this human impulse.  God is always anew in our lives but He remains the same, consistently, and without fail.  So, as we watch for the when of  the next “thing” let’s remember to not get distracted from He who never changes.
