day 2285: Hyperlanes

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”

There is already talk about what we will call the dedicated lanes on highways that are reserved solely for self-driving cars.  Those in the know are thinking that these lanes become even more effective than high-speed bullet trains because once in the lane the car can safely travel at 100mph, or whatever the maximum speed that is allowed.  I for one am ready for this.  We use “Hyperlanes” already; we call them now “express lanes” or “lines” and we can find them just about anywhere we need to line up.  Grocery stores adopted those years ago.  Gas stations became essentially express lanes with the advent of self-pumping, as did banks with ATMs versus going inside to see a teller. And of course, there is TSA Pre that was even one-upped by Clear Lanes.  So, we are used to this change, but still it scares many who fear the technology or just fear the change itself.  But, once we “get it” we don’t turn back and that is what we all can stand on and create for within our businesses.

Paul tells us to not get caught up in the copying of the world’s behaviors and customs, but boldly step away and be transformed by Christ.  Like merging into the HyperLane with our self-driving car, the same can be said by giving control of our lives over to Christ and letting Him move us into a new and different way of living.  The assurances that He gives us are clear, if we follow Him we come to understand what is pleasing and perfect.  Today would be a great day to begin practicing taking our hands off the steering wheel and letting Him move us into His lane!
