day 2367: Lion Or Lamb?

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”

It’s March 1 and that means we need to see what today brings; a lion or a lamb.  Last month, Punxsutawney Phil (there really is one…Patti and I saw him last Fall when we drove across the US), predicted six more weeks of winter, so this might be a lion of a month, but who knows.  It is the first day of the last month of the first quarter and March is always an interesting indicator of the trending of business and the economy.  It’s also a good month to take a quick check on how we are doing against our annual goals and objectives.  We’ve had two months to get our bearings and set some momentum and there is still plenty of time to course correct, if needed.  Two months in we should begin to see trends and themes.  What is it you see right now?

Has it been a lion of a year or a lamb of a year so far?  If you are like me, you set your annual objectives and have been tracking along with them and by now you can answer if you feel still like a lion or more like a lamb?  Just as we do in business, we should do in our own personal lives and stop and check-in on how we are doing.  I am blessed that I have others in my life that I weekly spend time with to help each other gauge on how we are doing physically, spiritually, vocationally, relation-ally and emotionally. We each have our lion and lamb times and we are there for each other when needed.  It’s the best form of check-up that I know.  So, today, on this first day of March, consider how to best do that check-in so that if nothing else, you can course correct where needed while there is still time.
