day 2220: Look And Don’t Forget

“But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.”

We just got home from seeing the special screening of the documentary film, “Boston”.  It was very moving and inspirational.  How we bounce back from setbacks and sometimes tragedy says a lot about who we are and what we can do after the seemingly impossible has occurred.  Thousands of the runners who could not finish the 2013 marathon race because of the tragic bombings returned in 2014 to complete what they started a year before. I was reminded how important it is to stop and take a look at what is happening around us, appreciate the past and then be not afraid to move towards the future.

James tells us that in Christ and His Word that if we look, do and then don’t forget, we will receive God’s blessings.  We will likely have a setback today that might cause us to look elsewhere for understanding.  We may not do what we should.  And, we may totally forget what we have been taught.  When any, or all, of this happens we just need to return to where we left off and He will get us started in the right direction again.
