day 2197: Darkness Versus Light

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

“Hey Boss, I love how you keep me and the rest of the team in the dark! Keep up the great work!”  Yeah, right!  No one likes being kept in the dark and if they are in the dark, they won’t allow themselves to stay there for long.  Either they will find a way to the metaphorical light, or they will just vote with their feet and like a moth attracted to a light, look for another job.  Bosses who keep their employees in the dark usually are not alone and it is a problem within the culture.  It might be worth taking a look around to see where there are dark spots.

The book I am using as a current devotional is called, “Not I, but Christ”.  The author, Jason Henderson says, “Light is what shows you what it is real”.  As I read that, it reminded me that each and every day I am better when I am exposed to the light of Christ through His Word, prayer and with others in fellowship.  If we are concerned about the dark points in our lives, then consider shining some light into the dark.
